South Whidbey Tilth

Community Produce Booth

Welcome Community Farmers and Gardeners

The South Whidbey Tilth Farmers’ Market has a Community Produce Booth to provide a venue for

people in our community who are not regular vendors to sell produce. Having some of your garden’s

abundance also broadens the variety and volume we can offer our customers.

During the Sunday market, the Community Produce Booth volunteer sells your produce for you. You

keep 80% of the proceeds, the booth volunteer gets 15%, and Tilth gets 5%. If you don’t want the

proceeds from the sale of your produce, you may choose to donate them to Tilth.

Here’s how to participate:

1. Bring your produce to the Community Produce Booth at Tilth between 10 and 10:45 a.m. on the day

of the market. We have some coolers to protect produce from wilting and pests, or you can bring your

own labeled cooler. Produce must be clean, disease-free and grown with only approved

organic pesticides and fertilizers. South Whidbey Tilth carries liability insurance for its activities,

but not for the products or activities of individual participants. If a customer becomes ill or injured

from your product, you could be sued independently. If you have a Homeowner’s insurance policy,

you can check with your agent to see if coverage for your product can be added to it. See the market

manager for details.

2. Please fill out the sign-up sheet (see other side), listing each type of produce (please include the

variety, if possible, especially for garden starts), the quantity, price*, organic growing methods or not

and any comments that you wish the volunteer to convey to potential customers. Include your contact

information. *Prices must reflect the current fair market value and must not undercut regular vendors.

3. Payment: Please bring an envelope for the volunteer to hold your earnings and provide your mailing

address so a check can be mailed to you. Alternatively, you can pick up your payment by prior

arrangement.

Consider becoming a volunteer in the Community Produce Booth for a few hours on an occasional

Sunday.

If you have any questions or to volunteer, contact market@southwhidbeytilth.org.
