Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:-
(a) the details of utilization of money pooled in the National Savings Scheme Fund during the last
three years and the current year;
(b) the details of State/UT-wise collection of money under the Small Savings Schemes, through
the network of post offices, during each of the last three years and the current year; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to sustain the investor’s interest in the small saving
schemes during the last three years and the current year?

(a) The details of utilization of money pooled in the National Small Savings Fund during the
last three years and the current years may be seen at ‘Annexure-I’.
(b) The details of State/UT-wise collection of money under the Small Savings Schemes,
through the network of post offices, during each of the last three years and the current year
may be seen at ‘Annexure-II’.
(c) The rate of interest on Small Savings Schemes is fixed based on returns on Government
Securities and some additional spread. They continue to draw investor’s interest
because of safety and attractive interest because of safety and attractive interest rates.
Schemes are also advertised in print and electronic media to bring awareness in general
public on regular basis.
