Northwest Fire Weather Summary.

Hot weather with low relative humidity is expected today for the region. The warming trend will peak east of the Cascades

today. Temperatures will top 100 degrees with correspondingly low humidities in the basins east of the Cascades today.

General winds will be lighter along the I-5 corridor on the west side. Increasing westerly winds are expected east of the

Cascades during the period of maximum temperature and minimum relative humidity. Winds will increase again on

Monday.

For the weather details in your area see your NWS fire weather planning forecasts and fire weather advisories such as

Red Flag Warnings.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

ERC and Burning Index will reach their maximums east of the Cascades today before decreasing tomorrow with the

weather shift. The risk of new ignitions from lightning is expected to be minimal. Increasing winds east of the Cascades

today and Monday will boost fire potential. Decreasing winds on Tuesday will drop the potential for new fires.
