10 The lines from "Mother to Son" by Langston Hughes depict a

mother's advice to her son, symbolizing life's struggles through the

metaphor of climbing a staircase. The theme of perseverance is

evident as the mother encourages her son to keep going despite the

difficulties. The imagery of climbing, reaching landings, and

turning corners paints a vivid picture of the challenges faced in life's

journey. The use of repetition, with the phrase "And reachin'

landin's / And turn in' corners," emphasizes the ongoing nature of

these struggles. Additionally, the dialect and colloquial language

add authenticity and emotional resonance to the poem.

Dear Anil,

Just had to drop you a line about my recent visit to Disney Studio in

Hollywood. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of astounding.

What struck me the most was the profound respect and reverence

with which they treat their animal actors.

You see, in a world where animals are often exploited for

entertainment, it was refreshing to witness an environment where

they are cherished and cared for. From the moment I stepped foot

on the premises, it was evident that the well-being of these creatures

was paramount.

Every member of the studio staff, from the directors to the crew,

treated the animal actors with the utmost dignity. They provided

them with comfortable accommodations, nutritious meals, and

ample rest between takes. It was heartening to see how they

prioritized the welfare of their furry performers above all else.

In a nutshell, my visit to Disney Studio left me not only impressed

but also deeply moved. It served as a reminder that compassion and

respect should extend to all beings, regardless of species.

Yours truly,

Satyajit Ray
