PREFACE
Hi there, my name is Christopher Reed. This book is a collaboration
and a combination of all of the successful models, strategies and
guidance I’ve surrounded myself with for over the past years. I’d like to
thank all of the business mentors that I’ve come into contact with who
saw potential in me to teach me what they knew.
Most of the ideas and methodologies in this book come from their
brilliant minds, what I’ve done is tested and implemented the same
ideas within my own business. Since it has produced a lot of positive
results, I’ve gone ahead and put this information inside this book and
in the training programs I’ve created.
In 2010, I took an interest in logo design. I was good at it, so I
started freelancing it on the side of my regular job. I moved back to
Richmond after college and put all of my time and energy into the
craft, hoping to become widely known for my work one day and to
eventually turn my freelance side hustle into a profitable full-time
business.
It was an exciting goal at the time, but as the years went by, I realized
that my efforts weren’t getting me the results that I had hoped for
— my freelance side hustle wasn’t turning into a sustainable full- time business. I spent a lot of time building the perfect website and
portfolio, and even posted content on social media to gain exposure
Page 8 of 35

and find a few new clients, but none of these things really helped my
freelance business grow in the direction I wanted it to.
What sucked was that for the most part, I was glued to the computer
24/7 “working in my business”... I did all of these things only to realize
that none of these things worked because I didn’t have a business
system or a brand and marketing strategy. I was DIY-ing and Googling
my freelance business from the ground up. I didn’t have a roadmap, a
game plan, signature offers, a system or a process for anything so I was
constantly second-guessing myself.
Because I lacked these crucial business necessities, I had to keep
working a nine-to-five job that I wasn’t too fond of and also had to
hustle and work harder to find new freelance opportunities. This led
to a vicious cycle of attracting low-quality, high-maintenance freelance
clients... and feelings of self-doubt grew.
After all of this, I just got tired of being overworked and underpaid for
my freelance expertise and decided to shift my focus from logo design
to brand development, marketing and sales psychology. A few of my
friends were doing really well in this area, which made me even more
determined to give it a try.
But this time, I didn’t want to make the same mistakes I did before,
so I invested in mentorship and guidance from a few people in the
space who were absolutely killing it. Once I knew more about brand
development, marketing and sales psychology, I put what I learned to
Page 9 of 35
9
use in my own business.
Soon after, word spread quickly about what I was doing, and a few
interested friends asked me to help them implement the same system
and strategies I had learned so they could go out and get new projects
from new clients and increase the average value of their projects,
despite being in different industries than I was. So I taught them the
system and strategies I learned, and the results they got from it were
amazing. One person was able to grow their income to $143,339
USD in just 4 projects by implementing the system and strategies in
this book. At one point, he was so busy that he couldn’t do any more
outreach. Another person took advantage of this exact system and
finally launched her own signature offers and made $10,000 in the first
ten days of launching. In three months, she made over $20,000.
And this is what got me thinking: What if I modified the systems
and strategies I used for my own freelance business and shared them
on a much larger scale to help other Aspiring Expertpreneurs turn
their freelance expertise into a profitable full-time business? And I’m
not talking about just freelancers — I mean people who are good at
coaching, consulting, writing, building websites, photography, video
editing and more.
And that’s why this book was created. This book is really just a
knowledge base of information that shows you the most important
mistakes and lessons I’ve learned while building my own business.
I think it’s very important to know that making mistakes is a good
Page 10 of 35
10
thing and is something we should welcome, but it’s just as important
to know all the rules that let a customer spend or invest money with
you. Without knowing these rules, you’re more likely to get stuck like I
was.
What would your life look like if you were able to book qualified
calls on demand, increase your customer base faster than you thought
was possible and know exactly what you need to do to close the sale?
Imagine if you were able to charge your worth and have potential
clients see and understand the value of your expertise to the point
where they’re thrilled to work with you, turning into your most fierce
brand loyalists...
If you’re interested in any of that, then keep reading and I’ll make
good on my promises. A word of caution though — this book is
not for everyone. If your goal is to just be great at your craft, spend
countless hours hustling, and only focus on building a perfect
portfolio and website like I did years ago, then skip this book. I’ll
refund your money.
But if you’re serious about transforming from an overworked and
underpaid freelancer to a rising entrepreneur who’s ready to take
control, quit their nine-to-five job to focus on their freelance business
full-time, and learn how to think like a CEO who’s ready to get out of
the rat race of selling services that anyone can do, you’ve come to the
right place.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations for purchasing The ANTI-HUSTLE Gameplan! This
book offers a tried-and-tested method to building a lasting and
profitable business online with your freelance expertise. By following
the system and strategies provided, you’ll quickly outperform your
competitors in your industry. Although some concepts might seem
bold, I will provide enough evidence to support them.
Your freelance expertise alone isn’t enough to succeed in today’s
marketplace. It only grants you a spot in the market, where you’ll
face diminishing returns as you try to sell something that, in reality,
everyone in your network already has. I mean think about it... there’s
already a plethora of writers, photographers, video editors, designers,
website designers, social media marketers, coaches, consultants, motion
graphics experts... you get the point.
The questions then become: If there are so many people doing the
exact same thing in my market, how do I stand out and win new
clients to build my customer base? How do I communicate the value
of my expertise in a way that it attracts high-paying clients and makes
working with me seem like the obvious choice? How can I leverage my
expertise to build a sustainable and profitable business without being
overworked to death?
To be successful in business, you need to focus on creating and
Page 12 of 35
12
leveraging a business system with sound economics, and have a well- defined brand and marketing strategy. Our whole Entrepreneur ModeTM
system focuses on leading people (our target audience) on a path we
call “The Ascension Model.”
Here’s what the Ascension Model looks like:
Step 1 - Through a $10 e-book, we provide our target market
(you) with the information they’ll need to move from their present
situation to their desired outcome. (“What” they’ll have to do to get
from point A to point B).
Step 2 - We offer our customers a $300 consultation call, during
which we provide guidance on applying the information to their
specific situation. (“What” they’ll have to do, based on their present
circumstances).
Step 3 - Based on their specific situation, we turn the consultation
customers into premium clients by helping them reach their goals and
desired outcome. (Showing them “How” and putting the information
to use with our additional support and guidance).
The reason why this system works so well is because we are no
longer trying to sell our ideal audience something that is highly
commoditized (e.g., freelance services), but rather the transformation
that will enable them to reach their goals.
13
When you combine your main expertise with the advice you’re most
likely giving away for free during the process of your services and other
information obtained to help your ideal audience achieve their desired
transformation, you start to become far more profitable. This is why
it’s better to sell the following three things:
The e-book - The information they’ll need to make their desired
transformation.
The consultation - Providing guidance on how to apply the
information to their unique situation.
Your signature offers - Showing them how to put
the information to use with additional support and guidance.
By adopting this approach, you can begin to position yourself and
your business as a supplier of intellectual property (selling your
knowledge and intellect) rather than someone who trades time for
money with a commodified service.
Here’s some additional benefits from this approach:
• Because the e-book gives your customers so much value right away,
you’ll start to earn their trust and gain credibility.
• People who were initially cold leads will turn into warmer leads,
making it easier to start a conversation with them.
• You’ll gain more authority and be seen as an expert in your field as
opposed to another commodity.
14
• You’ll make it possible for customers at any level of market
awareness (a term we’ll explain in depth later) to realize your value
and progress towards your high-ticket offers.
• By selling the $10 e-book and the $300 consultation, you’ll be
able to reinvest the money earned into paid traffic (ads) and keep
growing your audience, turning the money you make from your
offers into real profit.
This system works very well, but as with any business, you’ll run
into problems over time. Not everything in your business’ system
will be perfect. For example, you may have to change your signature
offers, your target audience, or parts of your e-book. That’s exactly
why I wrote this book because I’ve experienced those setbacks and
difficulties. What you’ll discover over time is that these challenges are
a small price to pay to become a market leader, a go-to expert, and an
owner of a real business.
In this book, we’ve gone ahead and provided you with the necessary
details to take advantage of our system and implement it in your own
business. We’re going to be completely transparent and won’t hold
anything back. It’s everything you need to get your freelance business’s
system up and running. The majority of freelance experts try to make
their living off of their skills and services alone. The more innovative
and business-minded freelancer will sell a solution to a problem. But
the next-level freelancer will give away the solution for almost nothing
and charge for the help putting it into action. My goal is to help you
get to that next level.

FOUNDATIONS

24
When it comes down to it, having a strong foundation is key to
success. That’s why this part of the book is so important. In this part,
you’ll learn about powerful concepts and ideas that will rewire the
way you think about building a profitable business online from your
freelance expertise.
If you don’t grasp the concepts we cover here, you run the risk of
either building an unprofitable business and have to start over again,
miss out on important aspects of building a business that will, again,
cause you to lose money, or both. Neither of these are good outcomes,
so it’s just best to start with building a solid foundation.

LEVEL 1
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND THE
INTERNET ARE GAMES
Think back to your early childhood memories; what were some of
your favorite games to play? For me, Super Mario Bros. was my go-to
video game. The idea was simple: plan and play your way through each
level so you can make it to the end without getting hit by obstacles.
You earn points and rewards in the levels by collecting coins, stomping
on enemies, and hitting blocks, and each level gets harder as you play.
The cool thing about this game is that the more experienced you are
with it, the higher your score will be as you play.
I say all of this to make an important point: the best way to think
about entrepreneurship is as a video game, just like the ones you
played as a kid on your Nintendo, PlayStation or other gaming
console. The score is the money we earn, and the way to get coins
or money like on Mario is to provide market value. The prizes and
rewards we get, both online and offline, are directly related to how
well we play the game.
27
The idea of entrepreneurship being similar to a video game comes
from the fact that both require strategic thinking, problem-solving
skills, and a willingness to keep going even when things get hard.
In a video game, the player starts at the beginning level, where they
learn the rules and how the game works. As they get better, they move
on to levels that are harder. In the same way, an entrepreneur starts
with an idea, creates a business strategy, and moves through different
stages of growth, facing challenges and problems along the way.
To succeed, the player must use a strong strategy, learn from their
mistakes, try new things, and keep going even when things don’t go
as planned. The same is true for entrepreneurship. To be successful,
entrepreneurs must always adapt, innovate, and be willing to take
calculated risks.
In addition, both video games and entrepreneurship require a sense
of vision and creativity. In a video game, the player must use their
imagination to move around and solve puzzles in a virtual world. In
the same way, entrepreneurs need to have a vision for their business
and use their creativity to come up with new solutions to problems
and to stay ahead of competitors.
When you start to think about entrepreneurship this way, building a
business online and “playing the game” as a whole becomes more fun
and interesting. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a video game
as, “A game played by electronically manipulating images produced by
Page 20 of 35
28
a computer program on a television screen or other display screen.”
If you really think about it, this is exactly what we’re all doing to some
degree. If your job requires you to do work on a computer, then what
you’re doing is a perfect example of a video game.
In the next few sections, we’ll dive deeper into the idea that both
digital entrepreneurship and the internet are just like video games.
The Internet Is the Console for Our Game
In digital entrepreneurship, your business is the game cartridge,
and the internet is the console you use to play the game. Digital
entrepreneurs all over the world are playing their own games on the
internet, but it’s all on the same console.
To understand this idea even further, let’s go into what makes a good
game. Josh Buckley, a game designer and entrepreneur-turned-investor,
once said on an interview with Invest Like The Best that:
“The best games are creating spaces that bring you into flow. And many
people know flow is a concept from psychology where it creates a sense of
immersion where time, ego, and the world fades away. And the thing is, flow
is almost synonymous with fun.”
When you think about it, this is precisely what happens when most
people use social media online, which is why it can be so addicting
and fun.
29
He continues and says that there are four key elements that make a
good video game. These key elements are:
1. Frequent Feedback Loops
2. Variable Outcomes
3. A Sense of Control
4. Connection to a Meta-Game
Each of these elements exist within the internet, but the connection
to the meta-game is the most important (we’ll talk more about these
later).
What most people don’t realize is that the internet is considered a
part of an “infinite game”. The infinite game is a term coined by James
Carse, author of the book Finite and Infinite Games: A Vision of Life
as Play and Possibility, and is defined as a game that exists for the sole
purpose of continuing the play. In his book, he writes:
“The infinite game — there is only one — includes any authentic
interaction, from touching to culture, that changes rules, plays with
boundaries and exists solely for the purpose of continuing the game. A
finite player seeks power; the infinite one displays self-sufficient strength.
Finite games are theatrical, necessitating an audience; infinite ones are
dramatic, involving participants...”
30
The internet is a never-ending video game that takes place all
around the globe. Many elements of a video game are used in it, but
the limits are removed. You are no longer playing as a character like
in Super Mario Bros. or in The Legend of Zelda; you play as yourself
on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Discord, and even at
work. You are the main character of your own game.
People that play this video game in the digital space earn points,
skills, and traits that they may use in both their digital and physical
lives. In the game, cooperation and friendship are rewarded more
than individualism and rivalry. Open-mindedness, kindness, and a
desire to help others without expecting anything in return will help
you get a higher score. As you reach out to more people and get
more exposure, you make more room for chance encounters.
In the hands of talented people, this game offers almost limitless
potential rewards with almost minimal risk. A player can enter the
game at any time, whether as a complete noob or as an advanced
professional, and start creating the world of their dreams. It can take
a player in a variety of directions.
Social Media Demonstrates The Idea
If being an entrepreneur and using the internet are just like playing
video games, then social media would be the clearest demonstration of
this idea. When we look at platforms like Instagram for example, you’ll
start to notice that there are levels to it.
31
The beginner level of Instagram kind of looks like everyone is baring
their innermost thoughts and pictures with the world. Meanwhile, the
intermediate level of Instagram can be seen as a place where people
share helpful advice, marketing tips, or engagement hacks. Then there’s
the advanced level of Instagram, where people have mastered the
digital space, have thousands or even millions of followers and are so
good at what they do that it’s almost identical to an ongoing game.
All of the social media platforms seem to have this general structure to
them.
Josh Buckley also gave a very interesting response to this idea during
his interview with Invest Like The Best:
“Flow is like ecstasy. It’s exhilarating. Athletes call it the zone. The best
games are really creating these controlled spaces that bring you into that
sense of flow. And then the biggest games today really take advantage of
this, but you wouldn’t actually think of them as a game. I look at Twitter,
Facebook, and Instagram as games and 3 billion people are playing them
actively.”
When it comes to social media, how you play in one area might lead to
opportunities in another. For example, if you share your thoughts and
ideas on Instagram, you might end up being invited to join a Facebook
group with people who are like-minded. If you engage with others in
that Facebook group, it could lead to a business partnership or other
opportunities for you. It could also get you more likes and followers
on your other social media accounts.
32
Start Playing the Game More Consciously
The most common way people start playing the game of digital
entrepreneurship is by engaging in a niche community; maybe you
begin by responding meaningfully to a few influential people in your
industry on Twitter, or you join a Discord centered around a specific
topic and observe for a while before jumping in with questions and
answers.
As time goes on, you’ll start to move from being a social media user
to being a social media creator. You may have already started your
journey by making your own content, which is a good step. The most
important thing to remember is to be your real, true self and play into
your character strengths and attributes.
You have the option of being someone who’s decent at several things
or amazing at one. Both options are viable, and your character
will develop as you play. Be carefree, as if you were just playing a
game, since that’s exactly what you are doing. The internet is full of
people you’ve never met before, so even if you make a mistake, you
can try again and start over. In the best case, they’ll give you new
opportunities.
When you start picking up momentum, the game will start to follow
the four key elements of good game design:
1. Frequent Feedback Loops: If you engage in conversation and share
Page 25 of 35
33
your thoughts, you’ll likely receive feedback in the form of likes,
positive comments, questions, and further discussions. However,
it’s important not to have overly high expectations regarding
the quantity or quality of the feedback. Instead, focus on paying
attention to what resonates with others and what doesn’t. Don’t be
too deliberate in your approach, as people can sense when someone
is being disingenuous. Remember that the value of a conversation
with one person whom you respect may be more significant than a
high number of likes or views.
2. Variable Outcomes: It’s normal for some things to work and others
not to. This is especially true if you treat digital entrepreneurship
and the internet like a video game. The goal is not to be perfect;
instead, the focus should be on making progress and trying new
things. You should feel free to try out new ideas and accept that
some of them might work and others might not. This element of
not knowing what will happen makes the activity more fun and
will keep you going.
3. Sense of Control: In a gaming perspective, mastery is usually
reached through consistent practice and hard work, which leads to
better results. This process can be hard, and how successful you are
depends on how much time and effort you put into it. But when it
comes to digital entrepreneurship and the internet, things get even
more complicated because you don’t just play the game, you also
make it as you go. To do well in this environment, you need to focus
on what you’re most interested in and learn as much as you can
Page 26 of 35
34
about it. Focus on what you can learn, how you can help others, and
how you can add value without expecting anything in return. There
is no one in charge to keep an eye on your progress; your success
depends only on your own skills and hard work.
4. Connection to a Meta-Game: The Meta Game is your life and
professional development, and as you level up, you’ll unlock new
opportunities. Gaining a following, making connections, and
becoming involved in the right activities might launch you on a
completely new path.
92
Your primary responsibility isn’t to be perpetually hunting for
new clients or customers 24/7. Instead, the goal for every digital
entrepreneur should be to set up a system (essentially a machine) that
allows new customers and opportunities to come to you. This is exactly
why we take advantage of the Ascension Model, because it allows us to
build the system that attracts these leads automatically. This machine is
built upon the quality of your products and services, the margins you
can achieve, and a deep understanding of your target market.
Value is the key element of your machine. You need to continuously
improve your products and services until it’s something your target
market wants or needs. You can increase your transaction value
(margin) by providing more value and if you have high margins, then
more funds can be reinvested in the system, which leads to more
clients. This cycle is what makes you grow sustainably.
You might find growth math and business economics intimidating,
LEVEL 15
STOP HUSTLING,
START AUTOMATING
93
but it’s actually pretty straightforward. With every customer you
acquire, you should be able to generate enough profit to acquire the
next one, creating a self-sustaining cycle. Your math should always be
in your favor, indicating that you are in good business health. This
equation will work for you if you intimately understand your target
market and build an offer that meets their needs and stands out from
your competition. Keep in mind that every decision you make should
contribute to improving the economics of your business. When
deciding what to include or exclude from your offer, always ask two
questions:
1. Is it providing more value to the marketplace, warranting a
higher price?
2. How can we remove ourselves and reduce our costs in delivering
this value?
By doing so, you can increase your profit margin, which in turn
improves your business economics. This allows you to invest in more
marketing or hire a team to assist in this process.
Speaking of hiring a team, when it comes to running your machine,
delegation can be a key component for growth. Take marketing, for
instance. By hiring virtual assistants, you’ll get more time to focus on
improving your machine and business economics, which not only
improves efficiency, but also ensures that your marketing is handled by
a dedicated team.
94
Ultimately, your primary goal should be to build an engine that runs
on its own, without the need for you in it. This engine is your business
model, designed to automatically attract and serve clients. Instead of
spending countless hours on social media or cold-calling potential
clients, your energy should be focused on enhancing this engine.
This is where you will find the most significant returns on your time
investment. Starting a business is all about creating leverage, using
systems that work for you. You can create a sustainable business model
if you build a machine that generates demand and fulfills it, so you
won’t have to hustle all the time.
95
In the digital age, people’s attention spans are shrinking rapidly.
The overwhelming amount of content and advertisements people
encounter daily has led to a phenomenon called “offer fatigue.” This
term describes the tendency of consumers to quickly lose interest in
offers that don’t immediately show their value.
According to Google’s analytics platform, businesses have only 200
nanoseconds to capture an audience’s attention and prompt them
to take action. With such a small window, it’s vital that the most
compelling elements of your business are presented “above the fold,”
meaning within the immediate view of your website or social media
profile before users need to scroll.
Failure to answer the question, “Why should I invest with you over all
other options, including doing nothing?” can result in a lost potential
customer. This is often why businesses struggle to convert website
visitors into customers or clients. Many freelancers struggle with
LEVEL 16
DON’T BUTCHER THE
FIRST IMPRESSION
96
making a strong first impression for several reasons:
1. They focus too much on themselves and their craft, rather than
on the outcomes and transformations their work can achieve for
clients.
2. They fail to answer “the billion dollar question”, leaving potential
clients wondering what unique value they offer.
3. They showcase their work without providing context about how it
delivers valuable outcomes for clients.
4. Their marketing objective isn’t clear, causing confusion about what
action they want visitors to take.
5. There are too many distractions on their website or social profile,
leading visitors to get lost and taking them away from the primary
objective.
In essence, you need to convince visitors that spending more than a
few seconds on your landing page or social profile is worth their time.
You’ll want to think about it like a storefront in a crowded city.
Every day, hundreds of potential customers pass by your storefront.
You have just a few seconds to grab their attention as they walk by.
Your storefront — which is essentially your landing page or social
media profile — needs to be inviting and immediately show the value
you provide.
97
Imagine if your storefront was cluttered with random pictures and
information about yourself with no clear message about what you sell
or offer. People would walk by, glance over, and continue on without
ever stepping inside because they have no idea what’s in it for them.
On the other hand, if your storefront clearly communicates what you
sell and the value it brings to customers — say, for example, you’re a
bakery selling the freshest, most delicious pastries in town — people
are far more likely to step inside to learn more.
Once they’re inside, they shouldn’t be confused about where to go or
what to do. If there are too many signs pointing in different directions,
they may become overwhelmed and leave. Instead, guide them towards
what you want them to do — maybe it’s to try a free sample of today’s
special pastry, or to check out a promotion.
In the same way, your online space should clearly communicate the
value you offer, guide visitors towards a specific action, and minimize
distractions. If it doesn’t, potential customers will just keep scrolling
or click away, just like passersby might walk past a confusing or
unappealing storefront.

Now that you understand the mindset shifts you need to make and
the foundations that need to be laid, it’s time to put it into practice. In
this part of the book, we’ll take you through a step-by-step process on
how you can start implementing the Entrepreneur ModeTM model into
your own business. You can choose to lead or follow in implementing
this plan; leaders face challenges but also reap the biggest rewards.
Consider where you want to be in the market.
The ascension model is hard work but it stands out because many
are seeking quick, easy solutions. By offering high-quality products
like a $10 e-book and $300 consultation, you’ll attract daily leads
and outshine competition until they catch up. This effort should be
put into your products and marketing. Your hard work is not wasted
because you can reuse it for future products and offers. You can adjust
your marketing and change your product content as needed. It’s work- intensive, but it builds long-term assets.
You can start testing this model for free with your social media
contacts and small ad spend. You don’t need a big budget or long
waiting period to see if your offer will work. This model requires
effort, but we’ll help you test the market.
