EWB Community DT

Terms of Reference

Objective

Now in its fourth year, the Community Distributed Team (DT) is a national volunteer

committee that builds on and enhances the impact made by EWB’s Community. Our growing

community network of student chapters, professional chapters and professional individuals

are all looking to leverage technological innovation to address urgent and important global

challenges, in Canada and beyond. The Community DT serves as a middle ground between

the EWB Chapters and National Office and helps strengthen and align our overall initiatives.

Structure

The Community DT is made up of:

● 2 DT Co-Leads

● 8 Academic Chapter DT representing:

○ British Columbia

○ Alberta

○ Prairies

○ Ontario West, Central and East

○ Québec

○ Atlantic

● 2 Professional DT Representatives

Supported by EWB Canada’s full-time Community Team staff

Commitment

As a DT representative you will be committing to:

1. A minimum term requirement of one year from 2024 - 2025

2. Maintaining close contact with your portfolio (Academic EWB Chapters, Professional

EWB Chapters, Professional Individuals)

3. Support with reporting, in-person engagements, and other opportunities as required

4. Attending regular DT meetings

● Academic Chapter Rep

● Professional Rep (EWB Professional Chapters)

● Professional Rep (EWB Professional Individuals)

Criteria for Eligibility

Prospective DT members must:

● Commit to a minimum one year term from May 2024 - April 2025

● Academic Chapter Representatives: Be in the final/upper year of their degree or

diploma program OR a graduate/young professional

● Professional Representatives: Be a working professional in an Engineering/Tech role
